The Leather Studio was born from a simple but powerful question: How do we create hope where opportunities are scarce?
In response, Christ Church Nokuphila and Samanyanga Leather came together and created The Leather Studio – a shared vision to empower people with skills that lead to economic emancipation and building sustainable livelihoods.
Why we exist
The Leather Studio exists to equip ordinary people with the craft of leatherwork, empowering them to start small businesses, create employment, and participate meaningfully in the township economy.
Every product made here carries a deeper story. It is a story of dignity restored, skills passed on, and communities transformed one artisan, one family, and one opportunity at a time..
We believe that when people are empowered with skills and purpose, they do not simply earn a living. They begin to shape a different future..
